UIDN is looking for a part-time case manager. Applicants should be bilingual (Spanish↔English), energetic, and well organized. There are opportunities for growth. Terms
- Three-day (25-hour) workweek
- $34,000 per year, paid bi-weekly
- $2,500 towards medical expenses
- Paid time off includes two weeks’ vacation, eight holidays, and four personal/sick days
Responsibilities
- Provide case management services, helping immigrants access services, within and outside of UIDN
- Respond to urgent situations
- Maintain regular office hours at Holy Cross/Santa Cruz Episcopal Church in Kingston
- Counsel immigrants on ways to become self-sustaining
- Provide bilingual (English↔Spanish) translation and interpretation as needed
- Coordinate and work with UIDN’s bilingual helpline
- Liaise between UIDN’s board of directors and community advisory board
- Provide transportation locally when required
- Regularly consult with the coordinators of UIDN’s direct services
- Attend trainings, board meetings, and other gatherings as needed
- Document all substantive contacts with clients in UIDN’s case-management software, Charity Tracker
- Participate in regular supervision
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, or a related field
OR 2+ years of case management experience - Good communication skills in English and Spanish
- Understand the needs of Ulster County’s immigrants
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Facility to manage simultaneous work projects
- Ability to work well independently and with a team
- Basic knowledge of computer programs and data entry
- Have a car + auto insurance
Preferences
- Deep knowledge of local groups and resources supporting immigrants
- Ability to speak and write some Kekchi (Q’eqchi’)
