Accredited non-attorney staff and volunteers with non-profit agencies are permitted to provide immigration legal services and represent clients before agencies of Department of Homeland Security if they are certified by the Department of Justice (DOJ). This virtual training is intended for those interested in this certification.
The training will discuss the requirements and process for submitting both new and renewal applications for DOJ recognition for non-profit groups and DOJ accreditation for the organization’s staff.
The session will be led by Hajra Ilyas, training manager, and Noor Sohail, training associate, New York Immigration Coalition. Registration will close on September 28, at 9am, and is free thanks to funding from the NYS Office for New Americans. Register here.
