UIDN volunteers work with the Ulster Literacy Association to help adults learn English. Maria, a UIDN case manager, described one student as “glowing” and “empowered.” The woman and her husband meet weekly with a tutor. They quickly learned the English alphabet and are beginning to try some English at their jobs and in daily life.
