Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) is a program that helps make sure pregnant women, new mothers, and children under five get enough healthy food. New York residents who meet income limits may be eligible regardless of legal status.
Call 845-340-3965 for details. Eligible participants receive vouchers to spend on fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and dairy products, as well as infant formula and baby food.
Ulster County residents may apply in person at the county Health Department, 239 Golden Hill Lane, Kingston. Residents of other counties can find the closest office here or by calling the Growing Up Healthy Hotline, 1-800-522-5006. Kingston High School students can get free groceries and hygiene products in Room M214 during ninth period, Mondays and Fridays during the school year.
