This virtual training will explain the Dept. of Justice (DOJ) certification that allows non-attorney staff and volunteers with not-for-profit groups to provide immigration legal services and represent clients before agencies of the Dept. of Homeland Security.
It will also cover the requirements and process for submitting new and renewal applications for DOJ recognition for not-for-profits and DOJ accreditation for staff. This training will be led by Hajra Ilyas, training manager and Noor Sohail, training associate, New York Immigration Coalition. CLE Credit is not available for this course. Registration will close April 8, at 1pm. The training is free, thanks to funding from the NYS Office for New Americans.
