Report bias, discrimination, or potential hate crimes to the Division of Human Rights. Under state law, a hate crime targets someone based on a perception or belief about a person’s race, color, national origin, ancestry, gender, religion, religious practice, age, disability or sexual orientation, or when such an act is committed as a result of that type of perception or belief. Immigration fraud hotline to report scammers seeking to take advantage of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) and their family, friends, and colleagues by misrepresenting the status of DACA or other immigration policies and offering fraudulent services. The Attorney General’s office will never inquire about the immigration status of callers or share your information with anyone. Call 866-390-2992 or email civil.rights@ag.ny.gov.

New Americans Hotline (website and helpline are available in many languages including Spanish and English). General immigration/ naturalization information; referrals to public and private programs serving immigrants; find out about Opportunity Centers for New Americans; and report immigration assistance fraud and schemes against immigrants. Call toll free 800-566-7636, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Friday except Federal holidays.

If you have an A-number, you can call the U.S. Dept. of Justice at 800-898-7180 to see if you are on a ‘deportation list’ or to get information about immigration-related court dates, bond hearings, and other proceedings, To schedule an ICE check-in visit this U.S. Immigration and Customs website (Spanish, English). The Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR) operates an Automated Case Information System where you can check case status using  a person’s A-Number.
