We need “a clear…standard for all law enforcement operating in Ulster County, including ICE,” said Ulster County Executive Jen Metzger in her annual state of the county address February 18. She promised to work with Sheriff Juan Figueroa, the county legislature, and District Attorney Emmanuel Nneji “to establish a clear county-wide standard” for law enforcement.
Diane Pineiro-Zucker, writing in the Daily Freeman, quoted Metzger as saying, “They should not be masked and they should be wearing a badge with their name and ID number, just like our local and county law enforcement do.”
