SUMMARY:Borderland: The Line Within\, free film
DESCRIPTION:Free documentary\, Borderland\, followed by a discussion with the filmmakers\, Pamela Yates and Paco de Onis. \nWhen the film was released in 2024\, a New York Times headline asked\, “Can a Film Find Something New to Say About the Border Crisis?” \nReviewer Alissa Wilkinson answered\,  “Borderland… takes a surprisingly multidisciplinary approach fueled by both personal history and government data. ….the camera can draw attention to what news reports and punditry miss: the human cost of government policies and law enforcement practices. Putting faces on abstract numbers activates empathy in a way no speech ever really can. Read the full review. \nPresented by The Woods Events Committee. Refreshments will be served. \n
