UIDN was a key sponsor of Sept. 5 action in Kingston to support DACA recipients outside the office of Rep. John Faso which began just minutes after the Administration proclaimed an end to DACA. In addition to support for DACA recipients, the specific goal was to put pressure on the Congressman to act within the GOP House caucus in favor of a permanent legislative solution – with no strings attached. A Faso staffer told us that the Congressman did support several bills to provide a permanent solution and gave us a copy of a letter to House Speaker Ryan to that effect. He also told us that Faso would be glad to meet with UIDN, to build a dialogue and to see how we can work together towards this end. The ball is in his court. Let’s see if he follows through.
