(Please note this training was originally scheduled for August 20th but has been rescheduled for Sept. 10th due to a an emergency in the family of one of the facilitators)
The Ulster Immigrant Defense Network (UIDN) will be holding it’s first training event on Sunday, September 10th for volunteers who wish to participate in the UIDN Rapid Response team currently under development. Participating volunteers will provide support to immigrant communities in Ulster County by responding on the ground to immigration enforcement activities when a request for rapid response is received from the community.
UIDN Rapid Response will respond on the ground to any immigration related enforcement action in Ulster County in order to document the enforcement action, ensure that the legal rights of those targeted are observed, attempt to prevent any unjust detention or deportation, and take action to ensure the safety and security of all family members, minors, and individuals adversely affected by the enforcement action.”
If you are interested in becoming a Rapid Response volunteer with the UIDN and attending the training, please fill out and submit the volunteer registration form on our website, and send an email request to firstname.lastname@example.org with ‘rapid response training’ in the subject line to ensure that you are invited to, and kept up to date about the training.
