Sign this petition and attend the village board meeting today, July 5th at 7PM at the Village Justice Courtroom at 350 North Main St, Port Chester NY to prevent the village of Port Chester from making an agreement with ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) that would provide financial incentive for local police to enforce federal immigration law. These agreements will put immigrant communities at risk.

Port Chester Resists and rejects agreement with Immigration Custom Enforcement (ICE)
Mayor: Richard A. Falanka; Board Of Trustees: Gregory K. Adams, Daniel Brakewood, Gene Ceccarelli, Frank Ferrara, Bart Didden; Chief Of Police: Richard Conway.
The immigrant community of Port Chester has said decisively and firmly: NO TO ICE (IMMIGRATION CUSTOMS) IN OUR VILLA. We ask the main authorities: Chief of Police, Mayor and City Council to clearly reject and do not accept any collaboration agreement with ICE. Our voices are opposed because the proposal sent by ICE clearly states that it will ask the police to collaborate and VERIFY the immigration status of those who “live in the jurisdiction”. In 8 US Code & 1373 articles (a)(b) says “ADDITIONAL AUTHORITY OF GOVERNMENT ENTITIES, Notwithstanding any other provision of Federal, State, or local law, no person or agency may prohibit, or in any way restrict, any government entity or official from sending to, or receiving from, the Immigration and Naturalization Service information regarding the citizenship or immigration status, lawful or unlawful, of any individual.
Luis Marino, the only Latin Councilman and strong advocate of the migrants said that he will oppose with absolute firmness and called for the community to say NO to this proposal.
